General Tips For Those With Dry Skin

  • Drink six to eight glass of plain water a day
  • Eat lots of raw fruits (or fruit juices) and vegetables
  • Do not use soaps with strong formulas, as your skin won't be able to handle the ingredients.
  • Avoid eating too much of the following foods, as they can aggravate dry skin: dairy products like milk and cheese; drinks such as coffee, carbonated drinks; processed foods that contain white suger, white flour and saturated fats; and raw eggs.
  • Stress can also worsen dry skin, so learn to manage your tension. Schedule time for relaxing activities such as an evening walk in the park.
  • Cigarette smoking can dry out skin, so don't light up!

    Essential fatty acids
    These help to lubricate the skin and are needed for skin health and the proper functioning of the body's nervous system. Good sources of essential fatty acids include omega from fish, flax seed, and borage seed.
    Multi-vitamin &
    Mineral supplement
    Contains B vitamins, zinc, Vitamins E, A, and D and other supplements needed for good skin healthcare. The nutrients found in a daily supplement are needed for good general health and well-being.
    B Vitamin Complex
    The B Vitamins are very important for both good circultion and healthy skin. Deficiencies of Vitamin B6 has been linked to many skin problems. Vitamin B 12 is needed for cell formation and cell longevity.
    Very often people with dermatitis are not getting enough zinc. This mineral helps strengthen the immune system and promotes healing. Often a multi vitamin and mineral supplement can help.
